I bought this fabric a long time ago, at the wonderful Eric Carle Children's Book Museum in Amherst, MA. How could I resist? I've been holding onto it for four years, not sure what to do with it.
A special little boy just turned one and in looking through my stash for boy fabric with which to make a pair of pants, I rediscovered this Brown Bear, Brown Bear panel. I quickly ditched the pants idea and decided to make a pillow. I'm digging deep into my memory bank back to when I was 8 or 9, and my new stepmother decided to teach my sisters and I how to sew a pillow, to guide me in making this one. The older I get, the more I discover how much I learned in childhood, outside of school, from people that fate brought into my life.
