A Simple Skirt

I came home late tonight from Cape Cod, and in need of a gift for a little girl whose birthday party we are going to, tomorrow! The great thing about having a fabric stash is that an instant gift is always waiting. This simple skirt took less than an hour to stitch up, not counting the numerous interruptions from my own birthday girl who will wake up a 5 year old and was too excited to sleep and my three year old who told me, "I don't know how to sleep." 

                                    

The fabric is Exotic Stripe in Midnight, from Kaffe Fassett's Woven Stripes collection. I love how soft and worn this fabric is. The material is perfect for a summer skirt. 

Argh!

When we lived in Riverdale, my eldest daughter went to the beloved Riverdale Presbyterian Church Nursery School (RPCNS). Every Spring, they have a fundraising gala and this is the second year I've donated an order of crayon rolls to the silent auction. This year's winning bidder requested pirate-themed rolls for her son's birthday party. 

This fabric from Timeless Treasures is so cute, don't you think?

Loving this sailboat  fabric by Laurie Wisbrun for Robert Kaufman. It'll look great in a crayon roll, paired with this wavy print.

A Strip Quilt

I'm making strip quilts for my daughters. This one is for my eldest, who is a big fan of pink and princesses. I've never made a quilt before, so wish me luck!
